Sogin Group donates 40thousand masks

02 April 2020

Sogin Group, the company responsible for the safe maintenance and decommissioning of Italian nuclear plants, has donated 40thousand surgical masks to the Civil Protection of Emilia-Romagna and Piemonte and, through Aria SpA, to the Lombardy Region, so far the Regions most affected by the Covid-19 emergency among those in which the Company operates.

Today's initiative follows the delivery, in the last few days, of 1,200 protective coveralls made of tyvek to the Local Health Authorities of Piacenza and Vercelli, and of a stock of overshoes to the Red Cross volunteers of Gattinara (Vercelli), taken from the backup equipment of the Sogin nuclear plants under decommissioning.

Sogin's commitment, expressed through these initiatives, is accompanied by a video message of encouragement to the social and health workers, #TogetherWeCanDoIt, published on the Group's Youtube channel and social profiles.

Sogin - stated Emanuele Fontani, Sogin's CEO - continues to guarantee, through its staff and the involved third part companies, the safe maintenance of Italian nuclear sites and, as a State-owned Company, supports with concrete actions those who, on the front line, are facing the ongoing epidemic emergency”.
