RemTech Expo 2022

26 September 2022

The Sogin Group took part in RemTech Expo 2022, which was held in Ferrara from 21 to 23 September. This was a key event for those wishing to learn more about contaminated site remediation.

Sogin and Nucleco were present with an exhibition space to present their nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management activities, carried out with innovative technologies such as Survey 3D. Visitors had a chance to put on a 3D visor and virtually access a reactor building of one of the nuclear power plants being dismantled.

Nucleco's CEO Agostino Rivieccio was present at the event and spoke at the “’Connecting with local territories to advance concrete proposals for ecological transition” round table, as part of the Regions' States General for Ecological Transition on 21 September. It was an opportunity to illustrate the company's best practices to technicians, operators and administrators involved in the sustainable development of territories.

Rivieccio spoke to AskaNews and emphasised that Nucleco has always distinguished itself in technological development and innovation, and the 3D survey represents one of the “most challenging projects” at a technological level for the radiological characterisation of contaminated environments.

Among other events, on 23 September Sogin took part in the national conference of the Italian Association for Radiation Protection (AIRP) entitled “Radiological remediation in the context of new legislation”, introduced by Association President Mauro Magnoni.

On behalf of Sogin, Giuseppe Seminara, together with ARPA Piemonte, ARPAT Toscana, Eni Rewind and the Department of Structural, Building and Geotechnical Engineering of the Politecnico di Torino, spoke on the “Radiological protection remediation: issues and challenges for the future” panel.
